Immune Support L-Lysine Powder for Cats

Well, we decided to give this a try in our elderly cat. She coughs and sneezes quite a bit and gets runny eyes somewhat frequently. She also has a VERY sensitive stomach and is very picky about foods and supplements. She also has seizures quite often :(So.. test 1: Will she eat it?Yep! She actually seems to not mind this stuff at all. It's easy to mix into one of her meals and it doesn't put her off at all. She must like the taste because normally she'll sniff out and avoid ANYTHING we try to sneak into her food.As far as the efficacy? She seems to be less sneezy, and her eyes have been clearer... But here's the surprising thing (and it may absolutely just be coincidence) - She hasn't had a seizure since we started giving her this. She normally has a seizure once a week, but it's been about 4 weeks with no seizures.I know this is NOT a condition this supplement treats, and I'm not suggesting it's a seizure treatment at all. However, I do wonder if the reduced stress her body is under from allergies and congestion / irritation helps with her seizures / epilepsy.Either way, we’re very happy with this supplement so far. The fact that she’ll actually eat it, seems to tolerate it well, and appears more comfortable makes it worth it for us.

I have started making my own cats’ food and have been using this in the meals to add more nutrients that can help support my pets’ immune systems and health. This comes in powder form so it is easy to scoop in and mic with the food and it is relatively affordable, so still fits within the budget.I am satisfied with this product.It was shipped quickly and arrived well packaged.

One of my kitties has frequent eye goop from FHV (she's vaccinated, but apparently it was too late as she already caught the virus before I adopted her from a shelter). Vets often recommend Lysine supplementation to reduce outbreaks since treating FHV with meds is not straightforward in cats.This supplement has a larger scoop than some others I've tried, which each scoop providing 400 mg of Lysine. That's more than many other brands, and the recommended dosage varies a lot, but the brands that supply 100mg are probably not supplying enough for a cat with frequent outbreaks. The real problem I have with the dosage is that my FHV kitty is also the pickiest kitty ever, and she doesn't like much of anything in her food, including this. I am able to sneak a really, really small amount but not even close to a scoop. However, that is the case with all the Lysine powders I've tried (I am always hoping there will be "the one" that she will eat).Another kitty, who is also fairly picky herself, has no problem eating this. With cats, you never know.

My cat has FHV, and it’s caused all sorts of issues with him. His vets have all recommended giving him an L-lysine supplement. I’ve been able to get him to take it long enough to know it really does work. The problem is my giant petunia is the opposite of food driven. He’ll eat a favorite food for a while but won’t eat all of it. Then he switches to something else. If he sees me put anything in his food, he won’t touch it. I had pretty much given up but decided to give Sniff ‘N’ Chomp a try. So far, I’m glad I did.When I first opened the container and had to dig for the scoop, I thought, “no way is this going to work.” The scoop was huge. I can’t get him to eat a pinch of the other stuff. I couldn’t imagine getting him to eat that great big scoop full of supplement, but I tried it anyway. I mixed it into a portion of the food on the side of his plate. I attributed it to his weird way of eating, but I could have sworn he went directly for the portion with the supplement mixed into it. The next day I mixed the supplement into part of the food he was already eating. And, NO Way! He went right for it and did the same the next day.For now, this is the best endorsement possible. Of course, the picky petunia could easily decide he hates it tomorrow, but I’ve never seen him this willing to eat anything good for him. As long as he will eat it, the price for this wonder is a bargain.

Unfortunately, neither of my cats would even try the food once this was mixed in. Granted, they are 17 years old and very set in their ways! Cats are notoriously finicky, so while this didn't work for my stubborn seniors, it would still be a great product for younger kitties or less picky eaters who don't mind the scent and taste.

This is a good jar of lysine if you want to feed your cats. While it's not an overnight fix, lysine seems to have some benefits if fed over time, our FIV cat seems better eating it regularly than not. This jar is nicely priced, and came neatly sealed. It has a scoop, and seems like a good flavor, he ate it without any issue. You can scoop this over dry or wet food, but we mix it with a bit of water and make a soup that he loves, which takes care of feeding both lysine and some hydration. Anyways, this powder is a hit, and seems like good lysine.

I ordered this as a supplemental support product for my cat, who has been diagnosed with FHV. He is currently on antibiotics, so I'm not drawing any conclusions about effectiveness yet, but I plan to continue using the L-lysine after his medication is finished.After 5 days of use, I can say that he readily eats it mixed into wet food and doesn't seem to mind the salmon flavor at all. I also haven't noticed any digestive upset or other side effects.So far, it's been easy to incorporate into his routine, and I'm looking forward to seeing how he does with longer-term use.

I'm so glad I found this for my kitty, who is everything to me. Anything that contributes to her immune system and overall wellbeing is something that I definitely want to have in her diet. This powder is easy to measure with the included scoop, and I just mix it into my cats wet food. She hasn't noticed yet. Or if she has, she must like the taste. This jar comes with 60 servings, so it will last for 2 months. This is a great deal. I'm grateful I found this for such a good value, especially given that my cat seems to like it as well.

After opening the product and removing the safety seal, I set the container down for my cat to sniff it, and he immediately started looking some of the powder out of the container. That was a good sign that till accepted in his food morning.However, the unclear dosage instructions on the label need improvement. It says to give half a scoop for kittens and one scoop for adult cats, but there's no scoop included in the container, and the label doesn't specifies what size scoop is intended. There's also no guidance on how often to administer it—whether that's once daily, twice daily, or with every meal. For a product I'm relying on to help my cat's health, this lack of clear dosing information is concerning and makes it difficult to use the supplement correctly. I wish the manufacturer had included a measuring scoop and spelled out the exact frequency and scoop size in grams or milligrams. Although the active ingredients per two scoops shows two grams on the label, it's still not clear what the dosage amount should be for adult cats.

My cat eats this powder with no problems. The powder smells like fish, but I expect that for a cat supplement. I'm trying to help my cat's sneezing. It will take time to see if this helps. The good thing is that my cat enjoys it, and it doesn't cause digestive problems.

This powder was super easy to mix in with his lickable treat in the morning, and he lapped it up without any issue, so he must have loved the taste of it. My cat is super picky with her food and I like to give her lysine as it helps with her watery eyes. Most of the time she won’t eat her food if I put powder mixed in with it. This brand requires a full scoop for an adult cat. I break the scoop up and give her half mixed with her wet food in the morning and the other half of the scoop in the evening. At first she wasn’t sure about her food as I’m sure she smelled it, but now she eats it right up. I think using a full scoop at one time would be too much for a picky eater but holding it up seems to work well for hiding it better. You get a good amount for the price and the scoop is pretty small so it should last a while. I do notice my cats eyes don’t water when I give her this so it definitely helps. I like that this is made in the USA so I feel safe giving it to my cat. Definitely worth a try if you have a picky eater and want to give it lysine.
